Rating System

 Hi!

Hello! Greetings. Salutations. Welcome, Earthlings. *Evil laughter* Welcome to the sh*t show.

Old Jenna used to rate books and not leave her thoughts on it. Old Jenna also didn't read as much as she does now. Old Jenna definitely would never have dreamed about sharing such public thoughts on an online platform (even if no one reads them).

I leave very honest feedback and am an ARC reviewer with NetGalley and also (sometimes) a mood reader.

Despite dreams of being an author (and sometimes still working on it), I've been escaping reality and into books since I was a kid with the Magic Tree House series and Goosebumps. I had been in a big reading slump last year, so I'm starting my Goodreads from scratch and slowly working through my mountain high TBR list.

So, without further ado and apologies for my rambling, my rating tiers:

⭐ Nope. No. Absolutely not. I probably skimmed or DNF'd.

⭐⭐ Definitely skimmed quickly, interesting enough not to DNF. Redeemable qualities. Maybe the characters were likable. Maybe the plot was enticing, but lacking. Not my cup of tea, but forced myself through it.

⭐⭐⭐ Good, maybe not great. I probably wouldn't re-read it. Maybe there were plot holes, or the characters weren't well rounded but the story itself was great.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Really really liked it, and was 🤏🏻 close to perfect.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ YAAAAAS QUEEN. Probably will re-read it. The characters were probably awesome, the storyline wonderful, plot driven. I'll brag about it forever and probably want to live in the book world.

As a side note, if the book has dragons or shadow daddies or men with wings, it's probably automatically five stars.

For now until next time,

Goodbye everyone!
